The Scav hunt is over! It wasnt quite what we expected- but it was a sucess! This event ended up being held at the Melbourne Airport, and heaps of fun was had by all!!??!

Here is our original plan for the Scavenger Hunt!...

The Scavenger Hunt to top all scavenger hunts.... SHINDIG 2001- are YOU ready??!

Youth Executive are running Saturdays night's acctivity...welcome to our scavenger hunt...

Shindig 2001 is to be held at the Melbourne Holiday Park, Elizabeth Street, Coburg. Incoming and outgoing youth exec will be running the Saturday night activity!!!!

We will be running a tram scavenger hunt around the area. The scavenger hunt will be under 4 headings.....

Sounds!! Restaraunts!! Nature!! Identification!!

We will have approximately 2 1/2 hours to run the acctivity

This will be in a groups situation. Each group will have at least one member over the age of 18 and at least one member who is knowlegable on the area.

Groups will be randomly appointed on the morning of the activity. Each girl will be given an identifyable object (eg- a ribbon) to correspond with her group. This is so that at some point during the day, groups members can familiarise themselves with each other and make friends before the activity.

Each group will be given: scavenger lists under the 4 headings!! maps of the area!! maps of tram routes (and timetables)!! map with locations of checkpoints!! list of suggested places to visit!! list of places to avoid!! list of rules and contact numbers!!

Checkpoints will be set up at a number of easily accessible areas (maccas... noodle bars =) etc..) and will be manned by adult leaders. Every half hour, groups are required to be sighted at any of the checkpoints. Each leader will allow a certain amount of time after the designated half hour period to have sighted as many groups as possible. They will them call in to headquarters (the caravan park) to let them know which groups they have sighted. At the caravan park, thye will keep a tally of all the groups seen. Any groups that has not been sighted will be called and told to report to the nearest checkpoint immediately.

Each group will have a mobile phone and a phonecard, so that they can contact and be contacted at any time.

Boundaries will be set down (ie- 2km radius from central drop off point). Being caught breaking rules of being out of bounds will result in disqualification.
