The West Wollongong Garden Club welcomes you to our website. We hope will provide you with a stopping off point to find out more about our Club, Wollongong and the Illawarra. Our site has been kept simple to provide you with quick access to information.
If you live outside the Illawarra and want to know more about gardening in your area, why not join a Gardening Club. For more information on clubs in your area, go to the Garden Clubs of Australia website.
Plant Library
The Illawarra has a unique microclimate that is milder than Sydney. Depending on which part of the Illawarra you live in, you can grow some sub-tropical plants not available to people on the Southern Highlands. In contrast, those living closer to the escarpment can sometimes get colder climate plants to grow. This makes for a diversity of plants and makes gardening in the Illawarra an interesting past-time. Check out the Plant Library for more information on plants and herbs for your garden.
