There are many sights to see in the Wollongong area. Situated an easy 1.5 hour drive from the Sydney CBD, Wollongong has a lot of hidden treasures. Excellent surfing beaches, scenic bush walks and magnificent lookouts are all within 15 minutes of the Wollongong City Centre.
For Gardeners there are many attractive sights - most being free or a modest donation for the upkeep of the grounds.

  • The Wollongong Botanic Gardens, open 7 days
  • The Rhododendron Gardens at Mt Pleasant, open weekends
  • Puckey's Reserve, a nature walk next to North Wollongong Beach
  • Mt Keira, lookout and walking tracks for all levels
  • Nan Tien Temple, with its beautiful grounds (closed Mondays)
  • Minnamurra Rainforest, with its walkways and waterfall, open most days of the year.

About Our Club

The West Wollongong Garden Club was established in 1975 to bring together people with a mutual love of gardening and the environment.  The Club focus is on the exchange of ideas and the promotion of gardening as a rewarding pastime.

Visitors are very welcome to attend our monthly meetings and anyone is welcome to join the Club. Membership entitles you to receive our monthly newsletter, Folk and Flowers and to participate in our activities. There are a variety of activities organised throughout the year. These include:
