During the time Tubbs is trying to find who is responsible for leaking drug bust information, a raid goes very wrong. Tubbs and a young rookie,
Trumbull, are wounded and the young rookie then dies. Tubbs is convinced the leaks are coming from inside the force and furious, quits. Not even Crockett or Castillio can stop him.
Not too long afterwards a man in a bar approaches Tubbs to try and gain Vice information for money. Getting involved in the deal, he takes documents from drug dealer Onofrio Avilathe's briefcase.
Trumbull's former partner, Diaz happens to see Tubbs and believes Tubbs must be the leak.
