Kevin Spacey's directorial debut Albino Alligator has the feel of a play. The action starts when three petty thieves are involved in a car chase with police. They hole up in a basement bar and take hostages including the bar staff. Viggo plays the man in the suit at the bar.
Tensions mount as the thieves realise they are not only surrounded by police but one of their own is seriously wounded. The story weaves around the tensions of the situation in the confined bar and exploring the characters and emotions. Viggo plays a man in a suit from New Orleans who was caught up in a hostage situation.
