(DEC)

Mandrake was a purebred Trakehner. Both his sire and dam were imported from Germany.  His sire Kaliber had bred many successful dressage horses some making it to Grand Prix including Hollybrook Boston and Arglen Kaleb

Mandrake has stamped his progeny with his beautiful uphill front, exceptional movement and fantastic temperament.

He had the most amazing temperament and could be run with other horses, including his friend the miniature pony gelding next door that he regularly scratched over the fence and his girlfriend Twinkie.

Mandrake hunted to hounds for numerous years and quite often led the hunts whilst leading a child on a pony behind him. He was a talented jumper along with superb paces for dressage.

I was fortunate to ride him when he was 17 yrs of age. He had beautiful self carriage and could collect and bend into shoulder-in then a huge ½ pass so easily. He had never been trained in the higher movements of dressage, it was simply natural to him.  At 23 years of age he still managed Reserve Champion Warmblood at an agricultural show.
