Synchrony offers two different kinds of Chat - one on a registered IRC channel, and two web-based java chat rooms (one "public" chat room and another accessible only through Synchrony Retreat) :
If you visit Synchrony Public Forum, you will find a link to a readily accessible web-based (Java) chat. To access it, all you need is a Network 54 login (user name and password combination). If you don't yet have a login, you can follow the steps from the chat or forum link to obtain one.
A regular weekly mIRC chat can be scheduled for 7.30pm each Saturday evening US Eastern Standard Time. I am able to be online most weeks at this time (Sunday 9.30 am. my time when not Daylight Saving here) but sometimes will head for the beach instead, so please email me if you would like to negotiate for a chat and (if possible) leave a note on the forum for others.
The registered IRC chat channel is:
#synchrony
The channel is "secured" and has autoguard operating. If you don't currently have mirc chat program those using Windows can learn about it and download it from:
http://www.mirc.co.uk/
If you have a Macintosh computer you can download the mac version (ircle) from:
http://www.ircle.com
Open the program with any DALNET server, and then simply type in:
/join #synchrony
Clear as mud ? Good luck with navigating cyberspace. I use a Macintosh and so am IBM challenged. However please feel free to email me if these instructions do not work for you and I will do my best to help.
NB. If you are curious to see what time it is in other parts of the world, try the Dual Time Clock
