Diet Information

Diet is very important to us. We believe in giving our cats a special diet which is designed to be as close as possible to what they would eat in the wild. Which includes seeds and other matter that may be found in the belly of a animal a cat may eat. We use a product called Vets All Natural  and this is soaked then added to raw meat to provide a balanced meal. We believe that diet is very important to sustain  healthy breeding cats. We also feed raw chicken necks as well . If you are interested in finding out more about Vets all natural and other products please visit the Greenpet site:

The main evening meal should consist of kangaroo and chicken mince together with grated raw vegetables (carrots, celery, parsley etc), tinned fish (cat food only as cats can get attached to human fish of any kind), olive or flaxseed oil, garlic, ginger, vitamin C powder, various seeds, kelp powder, LSA mix, cottage cheese and extra water to ensure hydration. These ingredients are mixed together to produce a balanced product when a teaspoon of natural yoghurt is added to the top. It can be made in bulk and frozen in portions or stored to be fed to your kitten over two to three days. We use a product called Vet's all natural, which can be obtained from a site called Greenpet. For more info please visit them at http://www.greenpet.com.au

Remember to use a good quality dry food, we use & recommend Hills Science Diet.

For your interest the use of the individual ingredients promotes the following in your kittens health.

Olive Oil & Flaxseed oils: Provide essential fatty acids to maintain a healthy coat.

Vitamin C: Provides protection from infection as it does in humans.

Natural Yoghurt: Provides digestive enzymes, which not only help the kitten to get the most from its diet, but minimises the odour of the litter tray.

Garlic & Ginger: Provides protection from infection and ginger is good for the digestive system.

A point to keep in mind that the meat content of any mix should be at least 60% over the non-meat components.

Your kitten should also be given a serve of raw liver, heart or kidneys no more frequently than weekly.

Chicken necks or wings are a very important part of your kittens diet. They help to keep their teeth clean and reduce the potential for future vet dentist bills by adding calcium for their teeth and bones.

Do not use tinned food that is not a fish variety. At all times choose the more expensive varieties as they are higher in actual fish meat content. We use & recommend Snappy tom.

A good quality dry food should be used in moderation and dye free products are often best. We use and recommend Hills Science Diet, Advance or Nutrience.

Access to fresh water is vital however milk is not good, as cats are lactose intolerant. While they love it, it causes digestive upsets and diarrhoea. Use only milk products that are made especially for cats, or Carnation Milk can be given when mixed with water.
