Holly Anastasia

"What a cute kitten. If she is six weeks old, then she was born around Christmas so Christmas Day can be her birthday and you can call her 'Holly'. " So spake the receptionist at the vet as I took my newest pet for vaccinations etc.

I had no intentions of calling her "Holly" but the name stuck so I added "Anastasia" to make her name more exotic. I'd been looking for an unwanted grey tabby for ages so I was thrilled with the little bundle of fur.

So Holly came to live at Clybucca much to the dismay of all of the other animals. She was totally fearless and pounced on everyone. Marco Polo was pleased to have a new friend until the antics of the new kitten became too much for the older gentleman. So Marco started hissing at her just like everyone else.

I despaired of ever training the feral little animal as she found plenty of mischief and refused to understand "No!". But now that she is a year old, she is much less feral and becoming quite civilised. She & Marco are friends again.

Oops! Spoke too soon. In my computer room, I have a tank where I breed underwater snails. The snails are relocated to the fish aquarium when they grow to help keep it clean. The snails eat tomato.
