Both Paul Hinson and Robin Simpson have been
experimenting with mounting digital cameras on their
EasyStar trainer aircraft.
Here's a camera mount
that Robin made from 2mm plywood for his EasyStar .
It sits where the canopy normally clicks in and is held down
with three
stout rubber bands. 3 Megapixel Nikon Coolpix camera, HiTec
HS55 servo.

you may prefer to Right
Click (Windows) or Control Click (Macintosh)
here
and Save the file to your computer to view the movie.
If you don't have a QuickTime viewer there are free
versions
for both PC and Macintosh available here

Aerial
Photos of Golden Jubilee Flying Field Taken With This
Kit

A shot of Robin taken by
the on-board camera as he
is about to launch the EasyStar. The shutter is operated by
the
Flaps/Undercarriage switch on the transmitter (Channel
5).

Golden Jubilee Field
looking South East. The car-park and our pits area
is top centre of the photo, just beside the baseball
diamond.
The path and fence at the bottom of the photo marks the
boundary
between the field and the Kuringai Chase National Park.

Golden Jubilee Field
looking almost due South. The baseball diamond
is clearly visible in front of the mesh fence centre right,
and below the
diamond the white speck is SSC President Peter Smith. The
blue speck
is yours truly, busily flying the EasyStar and clicking away
on the Flap switch!

Golden Jubilee Field
looking South West. The car-park is behind the trees
at the end of the path, right centre. The communications
tower marks the SES
and Rural Fire Brigade headquarters. We give the SES lots of
practice
rescuing our aircraft from their roof and the local
glider-eating trees.
