Sturt Football Club in the AFL?!

What is this site about?
This page is about my personal delusion - the Sturt Football Club of the SANFL playing in the AFL.
About Sturt
Sturt are the 2002 SANFL Premiers and while they have had very lean years they are third in all time success in SANFL behind only Port Adelaide and Norwood (this can be seen by various comparisons of the clubs and premiers over the years - years to win a preimership since 1877 (first premiership decided) and 1907 (SAFL established) and confirmed by comparing the premierships allowing for changing numbers of clubs since 1877 and 1907). However unlike both Port Adelaide (which has entered into the AFL - with a "new" club playing as Port Adelaide Magpies in the SANFL since 1997 and despite the change of playing name to the Port Power it is in fact the old Port Adelaide Football Club playing in the AFL) and Norwood all their Premierships have been earned in modern football as the club only played its first match in 1901.
Sturt now has a very loyal and strong supporter base. Its membership numbers are currently the third highest in the league (see here) and are not far behind Port Adelaide's numbers which are the basis for the Port AFL team. The Adelaide Oval's important role
The plan is to take advantage of an under-utilised resource, the Adelaide Oval. For a number of years Sturt played from the Adelaide Oval as its home ground before returning to its spiritual home, the Unley Oval. The Adelaide Oval is not used for AFL - despite SACA's ongoing desire (see here) and therefore hopefully financial support to the new venture. The other entity which should support such a venture is the Adelaide City Council as AFL in the city would be a boon to local traders.
Other details
The logo refers to the Adelaide Oval (S is representative of the River Torrens and the football of the oval) and the name (the S being for Sturt and the football an A). There would be a new entity needed for the AFL team, why not "Sturt Australian Football League Club Inc" hence initials of "SA" in line with the logo and a true SA team. The old Sturt logo sits atop as a crown to the new logo.
How many people have shared my vision?
So far!
