NAISH TORCH II I was lucky enough to test the Naish Torch II 12m from Onboard Surf Wind Snow and got to ride it a few times in different conditions, including Boggy Lake and Granites in the South East a Wave spot with awsome sea breeze, check out the holiday links. What can I say about this kite that is not good. Turning speed is fast and bar pressure light, but not too light so you have nice feed back from the kite. Once you trim it up to your preference there is a nice springy feel between bar pressure in and out which made for ride all day comfort. The kite has huge depower and power and windrange is really large, I flew it from 10-12kts to 20 knots and it was sweet the whole time. (I only weigh 68 kg).The things that really stuck in my mind was letting out the strap on the way out into the waves for huge airs off the waves and then turning back onto the wave and depowering to ride the wave in pulling the bar in or out as I wanted speed on the wave, it really felt great in the surf. The other thing was the quick turning and light bar pressure. When I was tired and wanted to slow down whilst heading back into the surf the kite would just sit there in a semi neutral zone and let me coast back out, then when you wanted power just give it the wind and you were lit. For you guys who like larger kites in more wind Andy tested it for you, he got to ride it in 20 - 25 knots at Goolwa Beach and was launching 6m+ air, was totally comfortable all the time. The thing about this kite was the 'get on it and ride', the first thing he did was a huge air, you don't have to worry about getting used to it as it is just comfort from the start!CONSTRUCTIONThe Torch II has additional features such as the Naish 5th line shift system, making depower, self landing and relaunching a cinch. It also has Octopus Technology inflation system which basically means pump that kite up in one go from the leading edge,... hey! this is great!Fantastic Kite, no hesitation, where's the credit card? this kite is hot!
