CONSTRUCTION:
The Boxer is constructed very well with good leading edge impact protection. It uses a segmented struts which provide the shape for the struts. Wing tips are continued from the leading edge which makes packing up easy. One large dump valve, struts have ball valves which actually work.
LINES: This model is a 4 line kite and really does not seem to need anything else.
GENERAL FLIGHT
FANTASTIC KITE!
The kite is very light and sits in the neural zone in almost no wind. It is the kite you want when the wind drops out as it will hold itself up with little effort.
The Boxer is a very nice kite to fly with a steady feel for beginners but make no mistake it will turn fast for tricks and recovery.
For some reason the Boxer has got a reputation of being a begninners kite, this is simply not acurate, it is a steady kite yes but that does not make it only a beginners kite.
This kite will do whatever you want it to do, just ask.
It sits steady in gusts and can be adjusted with the pigtail or other line adjustments to hold down lots of wind. As a 4 line kite it will get overpowered at some point in the top end.
FAVORITE FEATURES:
- Beautiful light feeling kite
- Nice turning speed with a steady feel
- If falling from lull or underflying etc. the kite will almost never fall out of the sky, but will float in correct position and drift back to refly with the wind.
- Excellent all round kite, what more can you ask for
LIFT&HANGTIME
Awsome lift and hangtime, in gusty wind the 9 as will all 9s sometimes put you down a bit harder if you come down in lulls, but over all the lift and hang is super!
RELAUNCH
The 9 relaunches without effort, so easy.
TURNING SPEED
Steady but quick, it has an initial slight slow turn (split second) then it turns quick, this provides the steady forgiving aspect but provides the quick turn when you need it.
OVERALL
Super fantastic kite, A pure 4 line which is pure magic, I have had it for over a year and still love it and can't wait to use it every session. Havent tried the later Boxers but reports seem to indicate they are even better and include a shift system for the bars and more depower.
