2007 - 2008 Parent Duty Roster

Could all parents on duty please report directly to Ann at the duty whiteboard on arrival at Landy Field to have your names marked off.(8.00am for a 8.15am start please).

Those interested in training to be an official for Triple Jump, High Jump, Discus and Javelin, Walk judging and Recording . Please contact the Duty Co-ordinator - Ann Skorjanec on 0417 138542 or on Saturday morning for more information.

For your child's safety and to ensure the smooth running of our club- South Barwon Athletics Club would like you to understand and acknowledge the following club rules

*All parents or a guardian are expected to stay at Landy Field at all time throughout competition.
*All families are expected to do duty on a rostered basis. These duties will be determined by the SBAC committee.
*Each family will be rostered on approximately 4 or 5 times during the season (every 3rd or 4th week)
*"On-Track" parents with older competing children will be rostered on.
*Committee members who are not actively involved during competition will be rostered on.
*If you are rostered on duty and cannot come that week, you must organise to swap with another family and then advise the duty co-ordinator.
*Duties are for the entire morning of competition. If you are unable to stay for the whole morning, please arrange to swap for another day
*If you are rostered on duty and cannot come that week and have failed to organise a replacement, you will be expected to do duty when you return regardless of your next rostered duty.
*Prizes, incentives, and if you need it, training are being offered this season by the GLAC for parents who participate in their rostered duties
*Unfortunately, continued breach of the rules will lead to suspension of your child for the season and the forfeiture of any fees paid.

The Geelong Little Athletics Centre is one of the largest in Victoria, and on any competition day about 100 officials are required to run the events. All parents/guardians/grand-parents etc. of registered athletes are required to assist in the running of these programs.

South Barwon has the responsibility to supply the Chief Official for the Javelin, Triple Jump, High Jump, Second Discus Ring as well as officials who perform such tasks as timing, measuring, and recording performances.
