‘Moonshadow’ O’Meara
Character Background
Rose O'Meara is of mixed Irish/Indian
ancestry and was born in New Delhi before her
parents emigrated back to her father's native Ireland. She
was married at eighteen and bore her older husband Patrick five children until
his death in 2000 from heart-attack. Her eldest, named Maya, has already had a
child to her long-time boyfriend Conal and is
expecting another. Her other offspring - Tobias, Todd, Radha
and Rosaleen - are still single and living at home.
In December 2014, Rose was driving herself and Maya home from the doctor's when
she was struck by a sudden premonition of danger. A truck had gone out of
control and was heading their way with no chance of evasion. Rose grabbed her
daughter's hand and closed her eyes. Much to her surprise, she and Maya landed
on the road with only a few cuts, bruises and abrasions as she felt something
pass through them. When she opened her eyes, she saw the truck crush their tiny
car and finally screech to a stop.
Apart from some publicity surrounding her eruption and a trip to Dublin's Rashoud clinic, Rose is still adapting to the fact she is a
nova. She has begun to make contact with other novas in the hope of getting to
know others like her.
Appearance
Rose O'Meara is a diminutive woman with
pale olive skin and pure white hair that she habitually wears in a thick braid.
Her features are reasonably attractive by baseline standards and fine lines fan
out from her deep brown eyes and generous mouth. She has a preference for
Hindu-style clothing during the warmer months and heavy dark tweeds during the
cooler ones.
