Prior to the Golden Slipper, Royal Parma had won three times and on each occasion was ridden by George Moore, who again gave up the mount to ride Black Onyx. Royal Parma who won by 3/4 length had to survive a protest by second placegetter Alfalfa which was quickly dismissed. Royal Parma went on to race until he was eight winning 15 and placing 24 times from 86 starts. |
