Flying Spur (the third successive Slipper winner for Lee Freedman) won the VATC Blue Diamond StakesPrelude, ran second in the Blue Diamond Stakes and third in the VRC Sires Produce Stakes.  Glen Boss picked up a late ride on the colt in the Slipper who as a 25/1 chance went on to beat Octagonal by half a neck and filly Millrich by a further length in third place.  As a three year old Flying Spur won the VRC Australian Guineas, AJC All-Aged Stakes and STC Peter Pan Stakes.  He won 6 races and was placed at Group level on 7 occasions.  He was retired to stand at Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley.
