Trainer Lee Freedman trained his first Golden Slipper winner in 1993 when talented filly Bint Marscay came from the extreme outside barrier to
beat Justice Prevails by 2 1/4 lengths in race record time of 1:08.88. Her owner was a newcomer to Australian racing, Sheik Rashid Bin Hamdan Al-Hahyan. Previous to the Slipper win she had scored wins at
Warwick Farm, and the STC Magic Night Stakes in race record time. As a three year old she won the 1000m VATC Chirnside Stakes in course record time of 56.60. |
