Marauding gave his sire, Sir Tristram, his first win in the Golden Slipper and his jockey, Ron Quinton his fourth.
However, for Quinton it proved costly when he was suspended for three months for causing interference in the race. Marauding was well back and badly placed as the field rounded the turn with Snippets
leading. Quinton managed to extricate his way out and raced home to overpower Lygon Arms at the post. He raced only eight times for 3 wins and two placings and was unplaced in three starts
as a three year old. He retired to Newhaven Park Stud where his progreny including Golden Slipper winners, Burst and Prowl. |
