Bounding Away was the first winner of the Golden Slipper to be bred, owned and trained by the one person. She was forced to
miss the early two-year old events because she suffered from shin soreness. She made her racetrack debut in late January and won easily. Then in the Blue Diamond Prelude she drew barrier 18 but
this did not stop her swamping her rivals. In the Slipper she started favourite and beat Just Blooming by a long neck. As a three year old she won the AJC Oaks after a fourth placing in the AJC
Derby. |
