Only weeks prior to the running of the 1984 Golden Slipper it appeared that Inspired would not make it into the field when he was
galloped on. He was operated on by veterinarian, Norm Teague, at Theo Green's stable and amazingly returned to the track three weeks later at Canterbury. Inspired became the second son of Vain to
win the Slipper and his jockey Darren Beadman was the second apprentice to win the race. |
