Neville Begg saddled up two runners in the 1980 Golden Slipper.  Fiancee the more favoured and the choice of Ron Quinton, and Dark Eclipse, to be ridden by Kevin Moses.  Dark Eclipse won the Magic Night Quality as a lead-up to the Slipper and this form proved superior when she overpowered her rivals to win.
