With Pride is all about being proud of who we are,
supporting each other, networking, and sharing resources.
Who
We Are
Parents With Pride (PWP) is a free and unfunded support, resource,
and networking forum seeking to serve Australian and New
Zealand parents,
partners, and prospective parents who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
trans* (GLBT).
How We Began
PWP was founded by an Australian lesbian mother Vicki and her
partner Leigh, in the
hopes of locating the support and friendship of other GLBT
parents, partners, and their children. Along the way a
local social/support group was formed and many events were
organised for and by the participating West Australian families -
including a 3 day weekend Family Camp, picnics, Pride Fair
Day participation, coffee mornings, Xmas parties, and other
family orientated activities.
Where We Are Today
We facilitate a national email group, as well as an online
website/resource centre providing information
on email groups, local parenting and family groups, links, community
organisations, fun sites, support networks, articles of
interest, and upcoming events ... all with the goal of
bringing families together through networking.
Community and parenting
groups also use the PWP web site to promote their groups and
events.
Our Mission
GLBT families face particular challenges, joys, and
adversities when dealing with a world that does not always
acknowledge, respect, or embrace Diversity and the ethos of
"equality for all".
Our aim is to provide families and prospective parents with the support, resources,
and opportunities they may require to maintain full, loving, peaceful,
and enriched lives. We aim to assist these families to feel
less isolated and to gain through friendship and
networking.
To this end, PWP's primary goal is to
provide an inclusive website and forum to assist parents and
families to empower themselves ... and
each other.

prospective parents - providing parenting resources,
information, online links, contact details of local groups,
and community GLBT listings.
'What's
Happening' Email Group :
Giving us all an insight into what's happening
in the world of GLBT families ... essentially within the
Australian context, although relevant international content
is also welcome.
Individuals
and groups are welcome to post and share -

News & entertainment items, and media releases that relate to our community.

Contact and event details of their social/support group.
*
Resources, links and information.
*
Requests from individuals for contact from others with the
aim of extending their local or online support network.
*
Stories, poetry, articles that they have written or would
like to share.
The membership
base is not available, so as to protect the privacy of our
members.
