Dance Leaders
for the Dances of Universal Peace Western Australia

Olive ~ Hilal
The Dances of Universal Peace were brought to
Perth in 1991 by Zahira-Madeleine of Canberra. I attended the weekend
workshop as a favour to a friend who was the organiser. I felt very
unsure about it ? me ? dancing and chanting! But I floated home on
the Sunday evening and now the dances have become an integral part of my
life.
Nirtana
I have been leading dances for the past five
years, and have travelled extensively seeking a deepening in my dance leadership.
I currently co-lead dance circles in Nedlands and Fremantle as well as
having led dance workshops in schools. My main interests focus on the Middle
Eastern traditions.
Patrisha
D.O.U.P. leader in training. I have been involved
in Peace Dances for nearly 10 years and leading groups or musically accompanying
for much of that time. I currently lead a Peace Dance group in Margaret
River, W.A.
Catherine
I lost my heart to the Dances of Universal Peace
the first time I experienced them in a weekend workshop in Perth, and was
soon off to taste the joys of the annual week-long retreat on the east
coast. In the absence of local leaders, I found myself a drum and
bravely and joyously began sharing the dances with others... This year
I am returning to a leadership role after a break of some years, motivated
by my desire to share my delight in the devotional and ecstatic qualities
of these dances with others.
