Controllers
July 2006 my first attempt at electronic controller from plans on the net,
I used an older controller for parts or from my spares,
I had a fiberglass frame unit which had a external resistor so it got striped down for parts to.
In the finish it has a all perspex frame, a total of 18 bands with 13 for the resistors which is controller through three power pots
the middle one is the choke with 5k ohms. The transistors are a darlington pair, cooling is by a 80mm pc fan.
The relay is a huge 70 amps unit I couldn't leave when I saw it.
On the handle is the Mash Button, the relay is controlled by the switch nearest to that.
There is three LED lights on the inside of the wiper pad for all three switchs.
The wiring is 4 Gauge Swedish Cable that was great to work with.
The custom make hindging wiper arm that makes positive contact for left or right hand driving, came from the old parts.
Anyway here is a photo of it.
My controller knowledge started when I imported the first Parma Turbo controller into Australia in 1976.
The two diode controller here where built up from kits
The orange painted handles was a Oz Products Controller I picked up second hand
I fitted the electronic kit to it and 10 years ago it was slick.
The controller with the box was built all from kits plus a koford choke plus a visit to the Electronics store.
For 10 years ago it was good then.
The track adaptors with voltage gauge comes in handle, it has another plug under the box for Queensland tracks aswell.

I have some wiring diagrams for the DIY races.
The wiring shown here is as if you are looking straight at the plug,
