BAPTISM
Before a child is baptised at Our Lady of Mount Carmel,
the parents are required to attend a preparation session where
the aspects and symbols of the baptism are discussed, as well
as the importance of baptism into the Catholic community.
Baptisms are celebrated on Sundays after children are presented
and anointed during Sunday Mass. Parishioners may also choose
to have their children baptised during Sunday Mass. Please
contact the Parish Office for enrolment.

MARRIAGE
Marriages

Couples who plan to marry should contact the parish office
in plenty of time to allow for the processing of all necessary
paperwork. All couples that marry at Our Lady of Mount Carmel
are expected to complete a marriage preparation course before
the wedding. To assist, the parish conducts a marriage preparation
weekend once a year - contact the parish office for more information.
A rehearsal is normally held shortly before the wedding.
HOLY
ORDERS
Holy Orders
is the sacrament through which priests and deacons are ordained,
and lay people profess their vows to religious life.

more information about Carmelite vocations, visit their website.
For more information about vocations in general, visit the
Diocese of Parramatta website.
ANOINTING
OF THE SICK
Pastoral Care
of the Sick is open to all who are seriously ill. There are
a collection of rites including prayer, Anointing of the Sick
and Viaticum (Communion for the Dying).
The
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick is celebrated on the
Second Friday of each month during 9:00 a.m. Mass. It can
also be celebrated at any time by prior arrangement with a
member of our parish
team.
If
you are going into hospital and wish for a priest to visit
you, then you need to make this clear to hospital staff at
admission. Privacy legislation means that patient lists cannot
be made available to our parish team, so the responsibility
has to fall to parishioners and their relatives to advise
us when they are in hospital.
