After reading H.D's 'End to Torment'

Erl Konig
Vater Magpie Father Lupus
Gadfly Lynx 'in a

certain sense
he made
no mistake' says Hilda

Doolittle he had no
ear for music
no rhythm in his body

composed an opera none
the less revered music
he gave he

took he gave
with a generosity
that was extreme he

took with an
arrogance that was
sassily exaggerated

his words suggest
the poem
reigns supreme

his actions suggest
women
of supreme importance

words suggest
understanding
may alleviate torment

actions
suggest torment
never ending 'the

enormous tragedy
of the dream
in the poet's bent shoulders'

Pomona Pomona

Dio Sole

a wishful
lykanthropy
of a kind
