We sail all year, visitors and new members welcome, Sailing School twice a year, sailability Wednesdays and Sundays.

The Lysterfield Sailing Club consists of family members plus junior and social members.  Family activities are organized throughout the year including sausage sizzles, fun days, and the end of year Christmas party.  The club encourages young people by providing Optimist and Darta boats which are available for use by junior members.

The club provides excellent racing each Saturday from October through to May (summer series) and every second Saturday from June to September (winter series).  The club also hosts open days , weekend regattas and a weekend away at Lake Nillahcootie.

Over the years the club has provided top-line race coordination and safety with a well-equipped and manned race control centre, with a full view of the lake, which enables the rescue boats to be directed to any emergencies that may arise.

The main classes sailed are the Impulse, Sabre, Laser, Tasar and Heron in the monohulls and Paper Tiger, Arrow and Hobie in the multihulls.

The club runs an AYF accredited sailing school offering an introduction to sailing program.  This is a popular course for beginners and covers all aspects of boat rigging, handling, basic sailing skills and safety, which are taught by our qualified and competent instructors.   Boats are supplied if required.  The course runs in the spring (October-December) and Autumn (February-March).

The club is conveniently situated at Lysterfield Lake Park, Horswood Road,  Lysterfield.  The lake is nestled between tree covered hills and a natural bush surroundings with abounding wildlife.  The park is controlled by Parks Victoria.  Facilities available include electric BBQs, Toilet/shower blocks, ample car parking, protected sandy beach swimming areas.  There are plenty of grassed areas close to the water for boat rigging.  The park also has many walking tracks.

Note: Summer Series Events begin at 1:30pm, Winter Series Events begin at 1:00pm
