Lismore City Pipe Band was formed in 1947 under Pipe Major Alistair MacSween and this year celebrates its Diamond Jubilee.
Since its foundation, the band has had over 190 members and has taught piping and drumming to in excess of that
number. The band continues to promote and foster the Scottish culture in the local area, particularly all aspects of piping and drumming.
The band is self funding and relies on fundraising, paid engagements and donations to maintain its instruments
and uniforms. They perform at many engagements in and around the far north coast, from street parades to concerts, supporting the communities in and around the far north coast of N.S.W. The band also has been successful in
competitions throughout its history and continues to strive to perform at a high standard.
New members are always welcomed, from experienced players to learners.
