Sarah Edgerley (nee Newnham) born ~ 1812,  mother of John, William and Sarah.
Photo by Australian Photographic Company No 1391. Photographers surname Boag. Earliest Hannaford photo circa 1876 showing Louisa (b 1864)  with unknown foster parents. Louisa married William Edgerley in Auckland in 1882 after working in Fiji..  Her parents John Pitts Hannaford and Louisa Elizabeth (nee Kennard) were from Devon,  married in 1861 and they both died about 1870 along with their eldest son Harry Pitts Hannaford b 1862 . Her young brother Tom b 1865 is not in the photo and maybe lived elsewhere.  However he also raised a family in Auckland circa the 1880's (see photo in next decade) and my mother remembers him as Uncle Tom.
