| Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor) was born on 21/04/1926 at 17 Bruton Street, in Mayfair, London. She was the eldest daughter of Prince Albert, Duke of York (later King George VI) and The Duchess of York (née Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, later Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother). Elizabeth II has reigned since 06/02/1952 following the death of her father King George VI of lung cancer. Apart from the United Kingdom and New Zealand, Elizabeth II is also Queen of 14 other Commonwealth nations around the world, including Australia, Canada, and Papua New Guinea. | |||
