| This note resembles the previous paper ten
dollars notes issued in 2002, 2003 and 2005,
retaining some of its security features while
adopting some new security features unique
to polymer notes. This is also the only current
denomination ten dollars note issued by the
Government of Hong Kong. All other circulating
notes in Hong Kong are issued by the 3 major
Banks, namely Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank
Corporation (HSBC), Chartered Bank (CB) and
Bank of China (BoC). However none of the
these banks currently issue banknotes smaller
than HK$20. Note: This including the 45 Uncut Sheet were first released on 20th November 2007 mainly for charity purposes. All proceeds raised were donated to the charity organisation in Hong Kong, the Community Chest. Issue price for the 3 Uncut Sheet was HK$100 and 45 uncut HK$1,800 each. In January 2008, another batch of uncut sheets were released and all sold out. |
