Extensive gardens, basketball/netball courts and a neat, attractive and safe playground surround the school building. The school prides itself on having each child feel valued within the school and community The school also prides itself on the ongoing professional development of each staff member, to enable them to be at the forefront of curriculum development and provide the best possible opportunities for all students Orbost Primary School is committed to literacy support within the school and has been involved in the early literacy program since 1996. Whole school literacy data is collected twice a year on each individual to assist with the monitoring and development of each child. The school has received two literacy awards for its literacy development. Along with specialist programs and subjects, the staff at Orbost Primary School, in keeping with their beliefs, encourages the children to be involved in the community.
