Hastings and district Obedience Dog club was established in 1989, and has been running along 'doggedly' ever since. The aim of the club is to promote responsible dog ownership and provide members with the neccesary skills to train their dogs to be proficient at any level, whether it is general obedience for a family pet or a wish to enter trials and compete with their dogs.

The club offers puppy training on a year round basis as we find that there is a constant need for this level of class, and from here the horizon is as far as you could want.
Obedience, Agility and Flyball are offered at the club and a large number of our members are involved in Tracking so it is also possible to learn this skill through contacts in the club.

We have also started to provide Clicker Training as an alternative method. The instructors in the club are open to new ideas and all avenues are explored in terms of Training dogs and handlers as with any education no one way is the ONLY WAY.
The club offers social activities to its members and there is a friendly cup of coffee available on Sunday mornings for those training chats
