    • The Gosford and District Orchid Society is holding its annual Orchid Spectacular and Art and Craft Show at Gosford Racecourse on 4, 5 and 6 August 2006. This is a well-known show, supported by Royale Orchids and Gosford Racecourse, and draws many local visitors and tourists. This year our theme is “Orchids on the Coast”. There will also be a Shell exhibition (part of the largest collection of shells in Australia and owned by our Patron, Roy Gifford), as well as a display of Lapidary and Jewellery by the local Lapidary club. We also hope to attract other displays by local businesses and organisations.

    The Gosford Orchid Society needs to seek sponsorship in order to assist orchid growers from Sydney, country and interstate areas to continue displaying at our event. With increasing costs, including petrol, these groups are finding they can no longer afford to travel too far from home. Hence we must increase our Prize Money for orchid growers and group displays. A list is available of the suggested prize money we need to give out in order to continue to put on the show of high quality that we have provided in the past. Judging of orchids is provided by the Orchid Society of N.S.W.

    We would be most appreciative if you could sponsor this show by contributing towards the prize money. The Orchid Spectacular is well advertised and names of sponsors will appear on flyers being distributed, in advertising and on display cards at the Spectacular. We are a not-for-profit organisation.
