Globe Making
Without Using Draw

You need to already know some basic things about working in Image Magick to be able to understand and use this tutorial. If you do not know much or anything about Image Magick then read Image Magick tutorials I have linked here first.

Image Magick Tutorial

You also need to know how to CC&P. That stands for Cut,Copy & Paste. If you do not know how to do this then look at this tutorial.

The Art Of Copy

This tutorial is about how to make globes in Image Magick WITHOUT having to use the DRAW feature. I think this way is much easier once you have made a sphere and save it. I will make a tutorial on how to make spheres later. For now I will show you how to make a globe my way. I have a everything you need right here in this tutorial. It will help you greatly if you put this tool made by Siggies into one of your F-keys before you start working on the globe! You can change it back to what was there if you want to, when you are done making the globe. Here is the tool.

Siggies Cool Tool

Make sure to transload the final product if you want to keep it. And if you put the globe on your site please link the globe back to this tutorial with a text link below sayiing that you learned to make the globe using this tutorial. Thank You. Have Fun.

The Image I am going to use for this tutorial to make this globe, I cropped and resized to Width=200 Height=200. That is the size I use for all the globes I make. So when You want to make more globes on your own make sure to have the final background image Width=200 Height=200. Even if it is just a black background with one image composited inside it still needs to be 200 x 200 for this to work. These are the images you will be working with to make the globe. Please transload them to your server before starting to work on the globe. It would be easier for you if you make a temporary directory. Maybe call it ( GlobeParts ). You will need to save some of the images as you work. I will tell you what you need to save and when. If you only have pagebuilder then put the images into your scrapbook and get then get the urls of those images for you to work with.

Green200x200Sphere.gif
Waterfall200x200.gif

WebTV Users: Click Here for a temporary URL to copy your image.
Click on the ( Click Here ) part of that. Then transload the Finished Globe to your directory. Or upload it to your scrapbook. This is what your finsihed globe should look like.

If you want to put this Waterfall globe in your sig or on your web page PLEASE Transload or Upload it to your server or scrapbook. Then get the url of the globe from your server before adding it to your web page or e-mail sig. Please put this banner under the globe and link it back to this tutorial. If you want to use a TEXT link instead that is fine too, but please say that you made the globe at "Globe Making Without Using Draw". I don't ask for a link bad for any future globes you make using this method, Just the Waterfall Globe that I made and used for this tutorial. Thanks. Here is the banner you can use if you want and the url to this tutorial.
