Punters Club... with your host Phil Mac (28/07/2003) Ronnie comes to the party... Another good week on the punt, with Ronnie backing the winner in race 7 at Randwick. Throwing all of his $40 on the nose, we thought it would pay quite nicely if it came in, but a little disappointed at the bowlo when news broke that the horse only paid $1.80 for the win, $72 all up. Beats losing though. So we are up around the $1,500 mark raised towards Byron, with a bit of cash still owing. Marty's myriad of footy selections are still to be checked, so hopefully we land a few more $'s there too. Try and get your $'s in this week at training, as well as the $100 to Ronnie for anyone coming on the trip that hasn't yet paid. Next week is Harry & Robbie with $40 each. Punters Club $'s Outstanding (as at 28/07/2003)... Chris
B. $25
(14/07/2003) $'s keep ticking over for Byron Bonanza... A couple of small winners on the weekend from Roons and Texas Pete, with a few bets still to go. Pete collected $16.50 on 'A Tenner' - Syd Race 7, No. 7, with Roons betting with his heart and collecting $18.50 on the Tigers win over the Sharks. Johnnie Roberts finished $22 up last weekend, with $62 worth of winners on the horses. Still a fair bit of cash outstanding for the season (see here), with any amount added to the $100 for the Byron Bay end of season trip. Marty & George have the $40 each this weekend, so hopefully they can land a few more winners and make the trip all that more enjoyable!... cheers, phil
(07/07/2003) Twelve hundred bucks raised for Byron. Ronnie has the Byron Bay Bonanza booked in for the 5th-9th September, and through the punters club we've got $1,200 in the kitty so far. This has helped to keep the cost down to just $100 per player. Matty was unlucky with a variety of bets over the weekend, but Johnnie R. won just short of the $40 back. Next week (v Ararat) is Roons & Texas Pete's punt, with Marty & George the week after. What everyone owes for the rest of the season is here. There's about $800 still owed, so with a couple of winners we should have around $2,000 towards a great weekend away.
(30/06/2003) More Punters Club joy. A great weekend for the punters club. Aman unlucky with his AFL / NRL points doubles, but Perce came to the party with $120 winner. Storm Buster in Race 4 at Randwick came up with the goods, with Perce's other tip running 3rd. We've now crept passed the $1,000 mark in the kitty for our assault on byron bay, come early september. This weekend sees father and son John & Matty each armed with $40, and Perce backing up after his win. Click here to see how much you owe.
(26/06/2003) Punters Club returns. After a few weeks on international training camps, I'm back and with that comes more punting madness... we've been pretty quiet over the last couple of weeks. Shawn maple nailed a $35 winner in the rugby league. but the best collect so far comes from Chris Mahar backing Lennox Lewis to win in the 6th round, giving us another $90 for the Byron Bay bonanza. 3 people step up this weekend with Ronnie, Purce and Aman armed with $40 each. A few bets are still in play, with Chris Mahar tipping 21-30 total points in the origin on Wednsday night, and Johnnie K's $15,000 collect if Parra Eels and Sydney Swans win the grand finals! (we can only hope) Quite a few dollars are outstanding all round, so please hand to Phil mc or Stevie Z. This weekend. with everyone paid up, the punters club should raise about $1500 towards the trip away, with $789 already in the account. this is what you owe... Next weekend (v. Nth Ryde) it's Johnnie & Matty Roberts, then Sean & Pete, then Marty & Vallas, with Robbie & Harry the last to punt in the first week of the semi's. Click here to see some sort of chart with your name on.
(22/05/2003) Rearranged bets for washed out match. Nath & Mcindoe will bet in week '15' when we play the rescheduled Nth Ryde game, Johnnie K & Zorby on this weekend. Keith and Ronnie the week after v Redbacks, then Chris Mahar & Shawn Maple against Putney. For the next 3 games, give your $5 for Mousey or Stevie Z. if it's your turn to bet put your $40 of bets on at the TAB, and Mousey or Steve will fix you up at the game...
(12/05/2003)
Another Winner - Number 7 comes good for the captain.... Good news is we have $482.70 in the account so far even though we are
behind by $55 on the punt, all going towards the Byron Bay Bonaza. Next up is self proclaimed punting genious Bradley
McIndoe, along with Nath. With Reggie, Mick & Adam Lincoln retiring hurt, the batting order has
changed a little with Doe, Zorby & Ronnie promoted up the order...
(05/05/2003)
So Close, but so Far... This means that on the punt we are $50 behind, with $230 bet and about $180 won back. This week Joel & Mousey have the $40 each, with Nath & Bradley the week
after. Let's tip some winners boys! phil how it works: When it's your bet make sure you have your
tips to Phil by Saturday morning including the Sport, Option, Selection &
Amount. Anyone who wins more than $80 (doubles their money) bets again the
