If you are looking for a frangipani tree
for your landscaping project or for whatever reason, we hope
we can help you.
Below
is some information which our customers usually want to
know.
Height of our
Frangipani Trees
Our frangipanis trees range from around 130cm to
around 280cms. Most are around 150 to 180cms tall. These
measurements are from the bottom of the roots (i.e. bottom
of the bag) to the top of the highest leaf.
Delivery - South East
Queensland
Whether you order by phone or visit us in
person, we can arrange for you to collect your frangipani
tree yourself or arrange for delivery.
Delivery - Sydney
We can arrange cheap transportation to the Sydney area.
($150 for a standard tree). You can either collect the tree
yourself from the driver (Liverpool area) or arrange to have
it stored at Glenfield.
Delivery - Melbourne
We can arrange cheap transportation to the Melbourne area
($250 for standard tree). You can either collect the tree
yourself from the driver (Lynbrook) or pay to have it stored
and collect it at a time convenient for you.
Delivery - Between
Brisbane & Melbourne
If you are able to collect your frangipani
trees from the main route between Brisbane and Melbourne, we
can arrange this.
Other Areas & Door to Door Delivery
If you're not able to organize transportation yourself, we
can suggest some options and try to help find reasonably
priced transportation but this may not always be possible..
Delivery Restrictions
In order to keep transportation costs down, we try to
combine deliveries where possible. We prefer orders to be
paid in full before we determine delivery dates. The average
time between payment and delivery is about 3 weeks.
To avoid wind damage, we deliver in either an enclosed truck
or trailer. For this reason, we are only equipped to deliver
trees up to 2 metres tall.
Delivery Costs
Our standard delivery
charge door-to-door for a standard tree is Sunshine Coast $45, Brisbane $75
and Gold Coast
$95. Sydney (Liverpool) $150 and Melbourne (Lynbrook) $200
does not include local delivery. If ordering more than one
tree, we can deliver a second or additional trees for much
less than the first. If ordering a tree taller than 1.7m,
delivery may be slighter more.
Orders within south-east Queensland exceeding $1000 have FREE DELIVERY.

Species and Varieties of Frangipanis
We stock the common frangipani rubra
varieties (tricolours, pinks, and a large number of whites).
We stock some rarer frangipani rubra varieties (yellow,
cerise and red).
We have the common white frangipani obtusa also known as
Singapore White.
We have the rare pink dwarf frangipani obtusa know as
Singapore Petite Pink.
We have the rare (but becoming very popular) frangipani
pudica (white).
The Easiest Frangipanis to Grow
The common rubra varieties (whites, tricolours and pinks)
have beautifully scented and colourful flowers. They are
deciduous so in winter they allow sunshine through to your house, lawn and shrubs. They are a hardier plant so they
can handle colder climates better than the so called evergreen
varieties.
Unusual and
Rare Frangipanis
I assume that unusual plants which are attractive, including
unusual frangipanis, are generally more delicate, more
susceptible to disease and generally more difficult to grow.
My advice is - The more unusual the frangipani, the higher
the risk of a health problem but also the higher the reward
for success. If you are an enthusiastic gardener and a
gambler, you might like to go for a rare type of frangipani.
Bag
Sizes
We have frangipani trees in 45,
70/75, 100 and 150 litre bags.
We expect to have more frangipani trees from November 2009
including some exceeding 2.5 metres tall in 150 litre bags.
Frangipani root systems weaken over winter so we'd like to
allow all our trees a few months in the spring, until
November, time to develop strong roots before any
transportation, especially interstate.
Price
Criteria
The following are important factors we consider
when determining the price of each tree:-
-Plant height (this is the most common factor)
-Plant health (strength of stem and branches and rate of
growth)
-Plant shape (overall balance)
-Plant appearance (removed branches, fungus, discolouration
are unattractive)
-Plant size (thickness of stem and branches and number of
crowns)
-Rarity - (Generally speaking, the rarer the species the
more difficult it is for us to grow so we have to charge
more to make up for this. Evergreens (Singapore Whites) are
usually around 25% more
expensive than frangipani rubras.

Choosing a
Frangipani Tree
You should consider the factors as mentioned
above which we use to determine price. Many people have in
mind a specific shape, be it no low braches or evenly spaced
low branches. Keep in mind however trimming and direction of
sunlight will determine the growth.
Make sure no branches are soft or rotted and check to see
that tips are not black or broken off.
Do not be overly concerned with fungus on trunk or leaves.
While leaf discolouration and leaf deformities can be a sign
of lack of water or nutrients, leaf discoloration and
diseases do not affect the health of the plant. After
purchasing and planting your frangipani, leaves can be cut
off or sprayed to allow the plant to produce beautiful new
leaves. After frangipani trees are planted into the ground,
they usually thrive straight away.
What
happens if you have another buyer for the same tree?
Until you pay a deposit, arrange a time to come
and look at or pick up your desired frangipani tree, we
cannot guarantee that someone else will not buy it before
you. Our stock is constantly turning over so we will help
find another one to your liking.
I need a frangipani
urgently. How soon can I collect one?
Contact us by phone any day of the week, 9am-8pm
to arrange delivery or pick up.
Nobody has the frangipani
I want in stock. Can you help me?
We have numerous species and
varieties of frangipanis in small sizes. If you are
interested in receiving a set of four rooted frangipani
plants by post
(except WA and TAS), please ask us.
