Uniform:
Why a
uniform ?
Throughout
its history
the Scouting movement has been clearly
identified by its uniform. Over the years much good will has been
received by the Scout Movement and the uniform serves as a focus for
the support of the community.
Furthermore,
the public
accepts the Scout
uniform as the symbol of an organisation with high ideals and a certain
self- discipline. Therefore, once the uniform is worn personal
responsibility must be taken to maintain the strong reputation that the
Scouting Movement has in the community and throughout the world.
Nevertheless,
there are certain circumstances where wearing of the uniform is
inappropriate . Many activities will damage the uniform so it is quite
common for members to be seen out of uniform during many activities.
Official
uniforms can be obtained from the following outlets:

online

Port Kembla Scout Shop mail-order: (02) 4274-1193
A new scout & cub uniform was introduced in July 2004. The
old style of
uniform is still current for FIVE years
from July 2004 through to 2009, so there is no need to purchase a new
style uniform
until you grow
out of your old one. Personally I think the old one looks better, but
then it's freedom of choice !
