2nd
Division Report
This week was the final game of the
first round of the season.
We were up against Templestowe Hotel, at home.
With Templestowe the ladder leaders, we knew the games
would be hard, but we knew we could take it to them and walk
away with the win.
Unfortunately we had a poor start with with many of our
players losing their first frames, and at the end of the 1st
¼, we were down 8 – 4.
Not the most ideal start, and this meant we had to
knuckle down, and play to the ability we knew we had.

This we did, and the frames started flowing our way
with more consistency. Because
of this, we rattled them enough that they dropped more frames, and the
score at ½ time was 13 – 11.
But as any quality team does when under pressure, they produced a
second effort, which did not take us by surprise, but did raise their
confidence. On the back of
this, they started to gain on our 15 – 11 lead, eventually drawing
equal, and then they continued to move ahead.
After the 2nd half, Templestowe was able to walk away with
a 30 – 18 win.
Congratulations to Marco Peccenini for taking 3 of his 4 frames, and
thanks to Michael Hoskins taking a frame in his 2nd
Division debut.
Anyway, next week is another week with us having the return match
against The Pool Room, at home.

Division Report
This week had us facing the same opponents this
week as the 2nds in the Templestowe hotel at their home
ground.
Unfortunately we had to forfeit our 2nd doubles
combination, which put us 3- 0 down before a ball was hit.
Our first singles player, Mark Fraser, however got us off to a
good start taking 2 of his 3 frames. We hoped this meant for a
fruitful night for this new team, but unfortunately not so.
Even though a few of the frames were tight, we did not take
advantage of mistakes our opposition made, and made too many of them
ourselves. Justin
Rosmalen, trying to lead by example, followed Mark in taking 2 frames.
Unfortunately a loss of 28 – 8 was our score for the night.
We all know that pool is a very difficult game to play.
With time comes knowledge and experience.
