2nd
Division Report
This week the ‘super seconds’ were up against Rack
‘Em Up pool club. This
was the team that won the 3rd division premiership
last year, so we knew they were going to be a formidable
opponent. The
games started off pretty well, as the usually do for us and by
the end of the first ¼, we were up by 2 frames, 7 – 5.
This would not be enough to hold the ‘Rackers’ at
bay and this was proven in the second ¼, when they didn’t
let the margin blow out, keeping it the same it was 12 frames
prior, 13 – 11.

Some fantastic pool was played by both sides.
Having known a lot of their players for quite a few years, it
meant we had to avoid playing in a social frame of mind.
Unlike the previous week, some luck actually went our way.
The third ¼ saw us gain more of an advantage, taking it 8 –
4. The scoreline at this
point was 21 – 15. The
fight back we were all expecting from Rack em Up did eventuate, but it
was not enough with us winning 26 – 22.
The win was all the more sweet for many of the team, as Rack
‘Em Up have been as close to our traditional rivals as is possible.
Many tight games have been played aginst them, including
finals. There were a few
guys who stood up against the ‘rackers’, but unfortunately, no
clean sweeps. Three frames
were taken by Jason Lowe, Steve Jeffreys, Marco Pelligrini, Blair
McKerley, and Daniel Eaton. Next
week we are up against The Manhattan.
Each week sees us with a new challenge, so this will be no
different. GO FAST
BREAK!!!
4th
Division Report
All of us turned up at The Manhattan, all primed for a
good night of pool after our bye of the previous week.
We were presented with a forfeit from the outset when
Manhattan
’s second doubles combination could not take part.
There was some excellent pool played by a number of our
players, but unfortunately, some bread and butter shots did not go our
way. It was a tight night
of pool, and the new players keep putting there hands up to answer the
challenges they are presented with, week in and week out.
Unfortunately, even with the 3 – 0 start we had, the final
score ended up being 17 – 19. The
positives for us tonight, were that 3 new players took 2 of there 3
frames. Toby, back in the
country from
Germany
, Jason, in his first night as a singles player, and Chantelle were
the 3 players that stood up. Even
though we didn’t get the result we wanted, the improvement is
evident. It is obvious
that some good and well deserved wins are going to soon be on the way.
GO FAST BREAK!!!
