The night started off
exceptionally well, with our lead off player taking all 3 frames.
Seeing as he usually plays in the 2nds, it was half expected,
but greatly appreciated,
thanks Leon. We
kept this frame of mind up, with our doubles pairing of Jason Zammit
and Brad Spencer taking 2 of their 3 frames against quality
opposition. Immediately
following Leon was Mark Fraser, who also took all 3 frames, which
meant that early in the piece we had a 9 – 4 lead and things were
looking pretty good for a team of new players.
Somehow along the way we started to lose what ascendancy we had
over The Roomers as they started to claw their way back.
With a few players left to contest their frames, we had Chantelle
Parker take 2 frames to give us hope.
Unfortunately, we were unable to take advantage of our early
lead and went down 20 – 16. Our
illustrious captain, Justin Rosmalen, was able to take 2 of his 3
frames, but this was to no avail.
The consensus within the team was that this was one that
slipped away, as we had 3 players who failed to win a frame.
One frame from each of these players would have made a score line
of 19 – 17, and a win for us. Besides
this fact, it was another exceptional performance by the 4ths, and our
second win for the season is not far away, and we hope it is this
week, Go Fast Break!!!!!
