Fastbreak got off to a slow start and not doing too
well with the doubles games. Keep in mind though, that this year
Fastbreak is 'breaking in' new players in the doubles, so it is only a
matter of time before they all start to fire as one - so watch out!
Special mention to Tracy Ladlow for showing good initiative with
tactics and strategy (re: snooker - snooker - snooker!!).
Justin Rosmalen once again dazzled on lookers and
scared the bejesus out of the balls (and refs on the next table!) when
he stepped up for his first break with "Mr Breaky" (his home
made, solid metal butt cue). No surprises when the white ball
left the table and traversed the room. However, on his second
break he did manage to keep the white ball earth bound, but
unfortunately it went and hid in the pocket...
Jason Lowe (J-Low) bought a whole new meaning to
patience and methodology with possibley the longest game of the
evening! Jason was playing game 8, and the players of game 10
had time to come and see J-Low's final frame! But hey, slow and
steady wins the race, and the proof is in the pudding with great
shots, well thought out tactics, and some nice wins to boot!
Finally special mention for Marco Peccenini and Joe
Saldaneri who were the only Fastbreak players to get a clean sweep!
(winning that is - lol) Well done Marco and Joe!!!
Next week it is back to familiar turf at the Croydon
Hotel. The Fastbreak / Croydon clash always proves exciting,
tense and nerve wracking as these teams have in the past been so
closely matched that nearly every dual has gone down to the last frame
or two!
