Paul wordt beschuldigd van diefstal van een ‘Oog’-steen (Eyestone) en moet verschijnen voor de Raad der Spellbinders. Initieel wordt hij verbannen naar het verdorde land, maar Spellbinder Ashka weet dit te verhinderen, omdat ze erg geïnteresseerd is in Paul’s kennis om er voordeel mee te doen. Ondertussen is Riana onderweg naar het Spellbinders kasteel met Pauls videocamera, om de raad ervan te overtuigen dat Paul inderdaad van een andere wereld komt.
