Chinese Heritage In Northern Australia Inc
Chinese Heritage in Northern Australia (CHINA Inc) is a not-for-profit association committed to promoting research and study into the Chinese Australian experience in northern Australia. It encourages the proper recording of Chinese Australian history and heritage.

On 16-17 February 2008, CHINA Inc supported by the the Cairns and District Chinese Association Inc and the Cairns Historical Society will host its second "no fuss" conference at Cairns, entitled Rediscovered Past: China in Northern Australia. Selected articles from its first conference have been published in an 84-page book, Rediscovered Past: China in north Queensland, August 2007. Click on the Red tab above to learn more.

Yip Hoy was naturalised in 1884 at Cooktown after being in the colony for 10 years. He and his wife, Yek How, established a business at Croydon where Yek How died. With his sons and business partner, Chun Tie, a butchery was purchased at Normanton. His sons, Yet Foy bros. proceeded to have business interests at Georgetown and Ingham.[Private Collection]
