Crystal Brook is at the junction of the east-west Sydney-Perth
railway line and the north-south Alice Springs-Adelaide line.

The Ghan derailment of March 1987.
The Ghan hit a semitrailer at the level crossing in Crystal
Brook and was derailed.
I believe the only injury was the driver of the
semitrailer.
