The LCCV consists of men & women of all ages and professions including retirees who enjoy participating in community activities and helping members of the community in need. These activities can including catering projects large and small, assisting those in need in the community in association with other community groups eg Handy Help, supporting Youth activities and the Lions Youth of the Year. The club also supports Lions Multiple District projects as well as District projects for example Campaign SightFirst II aimed at raising funds for much need Eye Health projects, Diabetes, MS, Childrens Mobility Foundation, as well as Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), and Australian Lions Foundation (ALF). The Club has excelled at selling Christmas Cakes and Lions Mints over many years and profits made have been donated to numerous organisations within the Canberra Community for example St Vincent De Paul's Society, Smith Family, Salvation Army, as well as others in need.
The LCCV will celebrate 46 years of dedicate service to the Canberra Community in February 2009 and is looking to increasing it's membership to enable it to continue serving the community. Membership is by invitation and the club is open to enquiries from both men and women who are looking to helping those in need in the community and having partnerships with other community minded organisations. The Club operates under the Lions Code of Objects and Ethics of Lions Clubs International.
