About Us

Welcome to our web site, Berly Cattery.

My name is Donna Fergusson and I live in

Adelaide,  South Australia.

Here is how we came to breed Siamese, Orientals, Balinese & Oriental Longhairs........

2001 we bought a Blue Silver Spotted Oriental boy

we named Big Al from "Syana Cattery"

He was a neutered pet for our family.

Big Al soon stole our hearts and within that year we had also

taken into our home & hearts a Seal point boy we named

Khan and also a  Chocolate Silver Tabby point Sebastian.

Several months later Lisa had an older boy still available,

a Havana named Charlie which our daughter Kimberly loved dearly

so we took him home and after a few days the boy's really got along well.

Purchasing an enclosed pergola was great for our furry friends as they

really enjoyed the freedom to come  inside and outside when they pleased.

In 2002 an order we placed for a Balinese girl came through  from Templeton Cattery

and so we went to look at her.

Basically a Siamese with a semi long coat. She was so adorable we  couldn't refuse,

we named her Emma.

While we were at Melanie's home we also seen some unusual cats, so we asked what they were.

Bi-Colour Oriental Long Hair we were told, this was very unusual  and we hadn't

seen anything quite like it.

We were offered a Blue Tortie & White Bi-Colour to come home with our Balinese girl Emma.

So we took both girls home and named our Bi-Colour Cassey.

We started going to a few shows with G.C.C.F.S.A and F.A.S.A , which was a lot of fun.

A few months later Lisa had a kitten named Oliver come back to her Cattery. He was a Chocolate

Tabby pt Siamese. Oliver was a little naughty by going to the toilet where ever he wanted, and so

the owner's had brought him back.   I took him home and isolated him for a few weeks until he

was using his tray, letting him slowly roam the house for a few hours at a time until he was trusted.

Oliver was the most loving boy I had ever seen. He fetches his favorite toy THE SNAKE!

It was around this time we decided to become involved in breeding.

2003 I had applied for my prefix "Berly"  And with the help

from Lisa/Syana Cats gave me Betsy being a Seal Silver Tabby pt

Siamese. Also Melanie/Templeton Cattery who gave us

Amber a Lilac Tortie pt Balinese to breed with.

Both have been very helpful and kind to me, making life as a breeder a joy!

Things moved very quickly from here on and within another 12 months we had another 4 girls.

Which you can see on my Queens pages.

2004 my Balinese girl Emma got Balinese Neuter of the Year

with  G.C.C.F.S.A.

2005 my man Oliver had Siamese Neuter of the Year also

with G.C.C.F.S.A.

We are very proud of them!

We go to a few shows to bench our cats and see how they do,

it's lot of fun for us.
