Woronora Cemetery - Sutherland
The first burial at Woronora Cemetery was in April 1895. Provision was made at first for the following ~ denominations, Roman Catholic, Church of England, Congregational, Presbyterian, Methodist and Baptist. Others were added later as needed. The Crematorium opened in April 1934.

There is an AIF Memorial and War Graves in this Cemetery.

Woronora Cemetery transcriptions were begun by volunteers of Botany Bay FHS in 1985 and was completed in 1998. Each transcription gives the following details if found on the plaque or headstone; name, date of death, age, and inscription. The inscription column has been abbreviated to include relationships and other items of genealogical interest, but usually excludes such terms as 'In Loving Memory', or 'In remembrance of' .

The publication is on 5 sets of microfiche. The Lawn Cemetery comprises one set of 13 microfiche (referred to as Stage I Lawn) and was published in May 1987. There are 13 Sections to the Lawn Cemetery each of which has is own index. These indexes total to over 12,000 entries

The Crematorium transcriptions have been published in 2 parts, Stage II Part A and Part B. Part A was published in Jan 1994, Part B in Jan 1995. There are 18 crematorium sections in total. This includes the AIF (Australian Infantry Force) wall and the Book of Remembrance. The Book of Remembrance is always on view to the public opened at the current date within a glass case in the Court of Remembrance. The book pages are arranged in date order. In many cases entries duplicate information contained on plaques or headstones within the cemetery. However, quite a number are made in memory of those whose ashes are scattered or taken elsewhere. There are indexes for each section of the crematorium. There are over 67,000 entries in total for the Crematorium.

The Masonry (ie Headstone) transcriptions have also been published in 2 parts, Stage III Part A & Part B. There is a cumulative index (contained in Masonry fiche set B) for both Masonry parts amounting to over 41,000 entries. The following Denominations are identified: C/E,, Baptist, Salvation Army, Congregational, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Seventh Day Adventist, Presbyterian, Lutheran and Jewish. The first 4 named denominations are found on Part A, the remaining on Part B. The Unsectarian Section has its own index.
