At last, a full team of regulars was present for training! However, Lilly S and Taylor O may not be in the team as they haven't been heard from since their one and only appearance.
After a gentle warm-up, it was back to basics. Flat double handed push passing and hard bounce passing was practiced. This was done by one person under the goal post passing out to the rest of the team spaced around the semi-circle. Slightly longer passes were done in circle work where all of the players ran and passed forward to another moving player. This was aimed at encouraging players to keep moving in the games rather than just passing and stopping, or not even providing a moving target.
The team needs some game pointers so a 20-minute half court session was set-up. At various stages, play was stopped and advice given on player positioning and passing options. It looked reasonable and if translated to Saturday games then the team should perform much better.
Finally, a 10-minute full court game against another team showed that there was benefit in the session. Passes were considerably better but players were still not instinctively running to free areas to provide pass-receiving options.
Probably the best training session to date simply due to the full attendance and also genuine interest by the players.
